Danika Thiele
Research Associate, Science Delivery
Combining backgrounds in journalistic writing, graphic design, and ecology, Danika translates scientific research into practical solutions for land managers. At the Ecological Restoration Institute, Danika creatively collaborates with staff to deliver science within workshops, webinars, and multimedia materials that address ecological challenges such as fire behavior modeling, forest treatment prioritization, and climate adaptation. She also contributes to the Indigenous Partnership Program and 4FRI treatment prioritization while strengthening partnerships and enhancing the visibility of ERI’s work through strategic communications. Danika holds a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Northern Arizona University and previously worked as public affairs staff on the nearby Coconino National Forest. In her spare time, she is a contributing writer for KNAU’s “Earth Notes” segment and an avid uphill walker.
