Summer 2025 ERI Newsletter – SWERI ReShape Program

ReSHAPE Program Updates: Improvements and Opportunities

The ReSHAPE program, and the Treatment and Wildfire Interagency Geodatabase (TWIG) continue to expand and improve to better support land managers, researchers, and policy makers. Recent updates make it easier to visualize, analyze, and communicate fuel treatment and wildfire data:

  • Improved TWIG Symbology:
New options allow users to symbolize fuel treatments by agency type, treatment type, and time since treatment.
  • Enhanced Summary Statistics:
The TWIG viewer now includes summary metrics such as percent area treated, percent wildfire overlap, and number of structures. Useful for quick assessments and reporting.
  • TWIG Video Tutorials:
Step-by-step guides are now available on our website and YouTube channel to help users navigate the platform and get the most from the data.
  • Webinar Recording:
The recording of our recent webinar with the Southwest Fire Science Consortium is available online, where you can see a demo of TWIG, learn about case studies using the data, and follow along with attendees Q&A.
  • Upcoming Workshops:
We’re planning Fall 2025 and Winter 2025–26 workshops. If your collaborative, research group, or agency team is interested in learning to access and apply TWIG data, reach out—we’d love to work with you.

We honor their past, present, and future generations, who have lived here for millennia and will forever call this place home.
