In this 4-part video series, Dr. Patrick Rappold gives an introduction to lumber dry kiln operations, with a focus on Southwestern ponderosa pine. The short course includes an introduction to wood structure and moisture relations, basics of air drying and kiln drying, and important information on safety and maintenance of kiln systems. Also included are guest lectures from Nyle Systems covering dehumidification kilns, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources covering vacuum kilns.
